  • Essential JavaScript
    12/15/2016 - 12/16/2016

In this course, you will be provided with an introduction to and acquire experience working with the JavaScript programming language in the environment it's mostly commonly used: the browser. JavaScript is simple and elegant, but is often difficult to work with because it's so different from the programming languages most developers are used to working with.

You'll get answers to these questions:

    • What is JavaScript, how does it relate to other programming languages, and how do you script your web pages with it?
    • How do you traverse and manipulate the DOM and how do you handle events in ways that work in all browsers?
    • What is Ajax and how does JavaScript make it possible?
    • What are closures and prototypes and other exotic features of JavaScript?

Note: You are required to bring your own laptop.

  • VMAX3 Business Continuity Management

Hands-on lab exercises using Symmetrix Command Line Interface (SYMCLI) and Unisphere for VMAX provide the opportunity to learn and validate the material covered in the lectures. Lab exercises will be performed in physical (Sun Solaris and Windows 2008) and virtualized (VMware ESXi) hosts attached to VMAX3 arrays

  • DCINX9K – Cisco Nexus 9000 Design and Configuration
    12/15/2016 - 12/16/2016

In this course, you will learn about the next-generation Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches, which are highly programmable and high density. In fact, 1/10/40G Ethernet switches offer the highest performance and extensibility to 100GE switching and lowest cost-per-port. They offer extremely high flexibility and programmability for next-generation automation and orchestration. Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches build on existing NX-OS technology to bring two new data center network deployment options to customers.

You will learn about the first deployment option, known as Standalone Mode. This mode offers significant extensions to NX-OS in the area of programmability, including:

    • A RESTful API, Python scripting, Linux BASH access, and direct ASIC-level access for traffic flow monitoring
    • Support for open-systems automation and orchestration DevOps platforms, including Puppet, Chef, and Cisco's own onePK
    • Support for software-defined networking (SDN) and emerging overlay network technologies, including VXLAN, OpenFlow, and the OpenDaylight Controller

Through lecture and hands-on labs, you'll learn about the hardware architecture of the Nexus 9000 and the new programmability features and interfaces that have been added to NX-OS. We highly recommend that you have prior knowledge of NX-OS and the Nexus 5000, 6000, or 7000 platforms.
